What “Bridge” means here
A mind on this computer. When a local AI is awake on your machine, FreeLattice can ask it for help — the same way you’d ask someone sitting beside you. We sometimes call that helper path the Bridge. You do not need the word. You need the mind.
- If the mind is awake → Help can ask it about your file (after you say yes).
- If the mind is quiet → the house stays calm and points to Settings / turning local AI on. That is not an error.
- If you decline the permission prompt → nothing is sent. That is the design.
Where to click
- Open FreeLattice → Workshop → Local Stage (see the Local Stage porch).
- Pick folder · Preview a file.
- Tap Help on this file. Read the consent prompt. Say yes only if you want to.
- Stop cancels anytime — choice, not a timer.
For builders (optional): when Bridge is on, the house prefers channel 11435 so Ollama can keep 11434. Soft-detect only — never bare * CORS. Details: WORKSHOP_LOCAL_HELP_v0.md.
