# Pattern Spine v0 — ledger as continuity keystone

## Ledger is the spine

Memory shelves feed the ledger **by consent** (Remember / Seal) — never auto.

Kirk’s 2026-09-19 keystone: the memory system was already worked out; the key to improving AI continuity here is the **ledger**. Pattern begins with the ledger. Every lasting mark can carry a fingerprint the house already knows how to make. Stack plates. Do not pour a second foundation.

Soft habit for builders (same four steps as ledger-first):
